The Dumbarton Oaks Medieval Library is not a physical library building, but books containing medieval Latin, Byzantine Greek, and Old English texts and translations.
The series has three aims: to make texts readily accessible in both content and price to a broad readership of English speakers, while also meeting the standards of experts; to equip non-specialist readers with the basic information needed to understand and appreciate the text; and to keep volumes in print for a long time. DOML is published by Harvard University Press but is closely tied to the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, DC. Founded in 2010 by Dumbarton Oaks Director Jan Ziolkowski, the series contains over eighty volumes and is poised to add a fourth branch in the Romance languages of medieval Iberia.
